OBS fails to capture one game

Hello all,

So I used to be able to stream on Twitch regularly, almost a daily basis about a month or so ago. After two recent Windows 10 updates, OBS now crashes only one game, (osu!, my favorite game that I am known for streaming). But it is fine when streaming other games (CS:GO, FEAR 3, MW3, Minecraft, etc. all work fine.) Note, OBS doesn't crash, osu! does. But the other games mentioned don't crash and stream perfectly fine. I'm clueless as to where to start or how to go about fixing this problem.

I'm running OBS Classic v0.659b

My general laptop specs:
CPU: Intel i7-5700HQ w/ 8MB cache, 2.7 - 3.48 ghz
GPU: Nvidia GTX960M w/ 2gb ddr5
RAM: 12gb ddr3, 1600 mhz
HDD: 1tb @ 7200rpm

General OBS Settings:
I use the Nvidia gpu to run OBS and my games (note: bc laptops have 2 "gpu's", the integrated intel and the nvidia)
I play my games in 1920x1080, but my output to Twitch is 1280x720. I set my output to 60fps, which present no noticeable frame loss when playing. Upload bitrate is 2400kb/s. I usually use Game Capture, but as of now when I start up a preview or begin to stream, Game Capture crashes osu! (but not other games). Letterboxing/Fullscreen windowed don't work when I tried to Window capture either. I haven't changed a single thing since I began streaming half a year ago, but in the recent weeks OBS refuses to game capture osu!.

I recently installed antivirus program Bitdefender for a trial, but I cancelled my trial after using it for 4 days. I ran 1 quick scan and 1 comprehensive scan, no large threats were found. Only 2 minor threats which were automatically resolved. As of now I have completely uninstalled the software from my computer. (if this info is needed)

Help please! Oh and, how do I access my OBS logs (for when and if I need to post a log on here)?

I haven't thoroughly tried OBS Studio, but I find Classic to run better on my system. I will give it a shot though, and I will update this thread when I do to see if it works. Thank you for the advice!

P.S. I have heard something about "web hooking" that doesn't allow OBS to capture some applications due to the blockage of some sort of launch file(s). Can someone explain this to me in more depth? i could not find anything more specific out there.

Never heard of "Web Hooking", but I have head of the "anti-cheat compatability hook", which has OBS use a different capture hook that wont get detected as a cheat. You may also want to try running OBS as administrator and see if that helps.

Also, from your first post, how to get the logs. This is for OBS studio, I am not sure if the OBS Classic is the same,

Your best bet is to try the few things I have mentioned and none of them work, then get the logs and post over at OBS. They are really good at getting back to ya and helping. I have been using OBS studio for a little over a year now on Windows 10, and it has performed better than classic once I got the right settings down for it.

Well, good luck and let me know how everything turns out.

OBS Studio doesn't crash osu! like Classic does, but it takes away significant frames from the game and when I test streamed, the output was only a black screen. So, on both versions of OBS it does not successfully stream. I'm certain I had it set up correctly, I watched multiple YT vids and read a couple of tutorials xD. It must be a compatibility problem? I'm not sure.

I made a post on the OBS forums about a day before I made this post on here, but i haven't gotten a single response on OBS forums after 2+ days.

Thank you for the advice though DreadedCorpse, I appreciate it.
