What would you rather have, i5 2500k at 4.2GHz or i5 3470 at 3.6Ghz?

The 2500k is watercooled and the 3470 is on a stock heatsink and fan. I want to know which one will give the best performance, taking into consideration I do gaming and very little else. Which one would you guys rather have?

I'd go for the 2500K, it's overclockable and at that speed it would be faster than the 3470. They are both quad cores and have decent single core performance so for games both are ideal.

They are two completely separate things. One is for overclocking, whilst the other is for those who don't intend to overclock (and dont care)

water is a PITA, stock is not great for gaming. Depends on the mobo and GPU. i5-3XXX gets you access to PCI-E3.0 with the right mobo, which might be important now, and will be in the next generation of GPUs

Easily the 2500k. The 2500k at 4.2Ghz is like a i5-3xxx at 4.0GHz. So, the i5-2500k is the better option. Hands down the higher and faster CPU.
