Hey all,

it's been around a month that this thing happened. Where should i start ...? Ok so my laptop was overheating and all. Opened up, cleaned all the dust, applied new thermal paste, now it's running at 70 degrees Celsius. You know basic HP overheating stuff. Now, during this process i've removed my wifi card so that i wouldn't damage it. After that, we decided to upgrade our internet, from 10mb to 25mb. We've choosed Altima for its "cheapinest".

Before that we had Tp-link. It did well its job but the internet speed was a pain. I had around constant 40-90 ping and SOMETIMES around 400. It was very rare to obtain such ping. BUT NOW, with altima, I have now around 800 ping 70 % of the time i'm playing a game. So I started panicking.. maybe it was just a matter of time to let the router get used. I've waited around 2 weeks... same result.

However, despite that i was using wireless internet and despite that I was quite far (around 6 meters) from the router, i wad around 18-20 mb down speed using speedtest. Not to mention altima telecom has EXTREMELY bad review.

Take a look. :https://www.gonevoip.ca/altima-telecom-provider-review

Now here's my question : Is the ping issue was from the wifi card or from the router itself...?

If its from the router how can I fix this instead of changing the internet service ?

Solution
Connect with ethernet cable and see if ping problem remains.
If no, then problem is with your wifi (router or card).
If yes, then problem is with your router or ISP.
