Suggestion on 3 monitor and 2 PC setup

I'm planning on adding 2 monitors to my home office system
I end up with 3 monitors with one dell desktop and one Thinkpad laptop attached to docking station

Desktop is for person use and laptop is issued from work as mobile home office.
My question is what is the best setup for this? I would like to use only 3 monitors, 1 keyboard and 1 mouse for both computer. Should i go with KVM switch? or some kinda software setup as remote desktop? Do you have any suggestion?


FYI desktop is running window 10 and laptop is running window 7

Multi-monitor KVMs are EXPENSIVE. I don't know if I have ever seen a 3 monitor setup. The inexpensive solution is to use multiple input ports on each monitor and a KVM just to switch keyboard/mouse. You have to manually select the input on each monitor but it is cheap.

Do you have any suggestion on what monitor i should get? does anyone of those come with some kind of remote to change input port? i'm doing the manual input switch right now with one monitor, and just trying to see if there is a better solution
