Hi,

I have a new build here that simply won't start up. First I tried with a brand new Gigabyte Gaming 3 motherboard with a corsair 650w psu, crucial ballistix 8 gb sticks, have 4 of them so 32gb but have also tried them one by one in different slots, no pci graphics, only the onboard. Nothing, the screen won't light up.

Then tried it on a brand new asus pro gaming mb with evga 850w psu, same ram etc, and nothing happens on the screen.

Error codes, well beats me, I don't have a speaker cable on the corsair 330r blackout edition it seems?

What can it be? I can't seem to see any bent pins on the gigabyte bord and the asus had a tray to minimize the risque for bent pins that i used.

Could the error be in the processor itself?

Thanks,

Patrik

wow so I cleared rtc and took out the memory for some good 10 minutes. put the battery in again and tried to start without memory... nothing...

then added all 4 ram sticks and added the sata cables into the ssd and was about to run down to a store just outside my house and decided to try one more time.

The computer made some clicking sound and voila I saw the uefi interface. success.

phew was a long journey. :)

well I have no graphics card, used the onboard on the mb.
at the moment I have all the case cables taken off as I was looking for a speaker cable for error codes but here's a picture of the board in the computer if that helps?

or wait, how do I post a picture?

so I went to the store today and they tested the cpu and it booted just fint. They suggested that I checked the standoffs to see that no unused standoff shorted the board. there are nine standoffs in chassi and nine holes in motherboard so no not that.

the other suggestion was that it could be the xmp was not enabled in bios that could mean my 2400 sticks are overclocked and it would not let me start up because of that. They talked about a memory ok button but I can't seem to see one of those on my board.

oh well have reinstalled the cpu again and bought a new noctua cpu fan instead of the cooler master one that I found a bit wimsy and hard to install correctly. will test to see if that helps, if not I guess taking the whole computer down to the store for error checking (or having them come home and test things here which actually is cheaper at the moment here in sweden. :)
