What Block can I use to watercool my Asus HD7870?

Solution
EK-FC7870 - Acetal + Nickel at frozencpu

Assumed you already

  • ■ got pump + top + res + (optional 24 Volt controller for D5 strong such as koolance PMP 450S).
    ■ have sufficient knowledge of PC water cooling material heat induction, pressure and flow rate science. Also first time water cooling (radiator flushing, thermal grease appliance, pump priming, leakage monitoring, and temperature monitoring.)
    ■ measure inner space of your case and 240 mm radiator mounting and CPU socket compatibility.
then yes, as long as you're sure that your CPU and GPU at 200 watt TDP combine, ex. intel core i3 6100 (51 watt TDP). And have two 1500 RPM 120 mm static pressure fans.

Tips

  • ■ see if your case fits push-pull...

Tips

  • ■ see if your case fits push-pull configuration, if your CPU has higher TDP such as 95 watt then consider coolstream 360. Or if you use itx case you could add coolstream 120 (240 + 120 rad in series).
    ■ do not use silver coil/kill coil as silver cause corrosion when mix with brass, copper, nickel (common material used in PC water cooling), add biocides or other microbe inhibitor at bleeding the loop.
