I recently upgraded my CPU from an i5 4670k to an i7 4790k I have the same motherboard an Asus B85 Plus. I have tried;
Removing the battery and put it back in.
Clear RTC
Upgrade my bios to 2305 which does support my new CPU
The computer when it posts releases a beep but it doesn't with the i7 and also USB devices do not work with the new i7 but everything works like normal with the old i5. I have put the old i5 back in and seen it works
