I have a few questions and hopefully someone can help me find a solution. For anyone familiar with PLEX (www.plex.tv) I've just signed up for their PLEX Pass service. You need to create an account, download the media server program from their website, then install the PLEX app on whichever device you wish to view your content from. In my case it's an iPhone 6s and a Roku Express connected to an HDTV. Now, I have the media server installed on a family members iMac (OSX Sierra) that I don't always have direct access to and I've enabled remote access in my settings. My plan is to cut the cord altogether eventually and stream all my content through the Roku. I also wish to download movies online and add them to my media server so I can watch them at home on the Roku at my leisure or when I'm on the go with my iPhone. Problem is, since I don't have my own CPU here, and the iMac with the installed media server is at another location, I can't seem to access the server remotely at my house through the PLEX apps installed on my phone or Roku despite having remote access turned on. Any ideas for a solution to this or suggestions on a workaround of some sort? Thanks in advance.

When you say you have 'remote access enabled in your settings', what exactly do you mean?

Remote Management allows other users to access that computer using Apple Remote Desktop, not "remotely".
Remote Login lets users of other computers access that computer using SSH and SFTP. Remotely, but again, SSH you need commands.
