in the case of cooling down a 6700k, overclocked to however far i can get it, inside a Thermaltake core V1, mini-ITX; would it I achieve lower temps with the Noctua NH-U9s or Swiftech 140x?

I ask because I know the Swiftech 240-x2 is very good and beats any air cooling; but is it still true on the mini-itx 140mm rad environment, or would the Noctua beat it? real data preferable for the answer.

Generally speaking, you can max out a Skylake CPU before getting into unsafe temperatures with even a relatively low-end heatsink such as a Cryorig H7. Voltage becomes an issue first - you really don't want to be running above 1.4v every day, regardless of your temperatures.

That said, the Swiftech might have a 1-2c edge but it's certainly not worth twice as much, and it's almost certainly a lot more noisy. AiO coolers are almost always a bad value if you factor in noise, performance and price.

I am not one to care about noise, usually whatever i'm doing is way louder than the machine, but on the price/performance i think the M9i is the best in this situation. just looking for pure cooling power.
