I'm looking for a Athlon dual core for a A8N-SLI Deluxe. On cpu-world.com it says cpus like the 64X2 4800+ is a 939 socket but everywhere else it says its a AM2. on some websites it tells me my mobo is compatible with athlon 64, 64 x2 , fx , and opteron but the manual says only athlon 64 and FX. Someone please help. Im trying to use this but i need a dual core to run stuff smoothly and i have no idea what i need to get

Solution
I see where you're getting confused.

Manchester and Toledo Athlon 64 X2 chips use socket 939. All other architectures seen on Athlon 64 X2 chips use socket AM2.

The chips listed in the Athlon 64 X2 section under the Athlon FX section are all Manchester or Toledo chips. CPU-Upgrade is not showing any of the other models of Athlon 64 X2 chips because they're not the correct socket.

Solution
They're different sockets and not compatible. There are different versions of the same cpu with the same model number but different socket. Honestly it's so old you'd be wasting money. You can buy a whole pc for $50 that will be better than any of those cpus.
