I'm looking to upgrade my ram. Rightnow, i have 1 stick of DDR3 only memory in 4gb. I'm upgarding fro another stick of 4gb for my laptop.

But in my area there is no ddr3 only ram selling. Can i use ddr3l memory in ddr3-only motherboard? And what if i can.. Can i run both ddr3-only stick on one slot and ddr3l stick on another slot?

All i know is that, DDR3 ram runs at 1.5V while DDR3L runs at 1.35V.

I ask the computer guy at the hardware shop, he told me that i can't, but the internet say i can.

As stated before, the DDR3L is low voltage, but should be able to run at the normal 1.5v. I'm assuming your talking about the same types of RAM though, since you mentioned "Laptop" RAM. Laptop RAM is call SO-DIMM's and regular desktop RAM is just DIMM's. There are quite a bit different between the two, but thought I would clarify this, since it wasn't mentioned.

Yes, the SO-DIMM's one.
Ok so that is solved, what about...
Can i run both ddr3-only stick on one slot and ddr3l stick on another slot?

Not everything is easy to find out whether or not the RAM is compatible or not. Not all RAM modules are listed in the compatibility lists that the manufacturers list there are simply too many RAM sticks out there to test. Your best bet is to put the RAM into the slots and see if your system recognizes and boots up with your laptop. So if you have 2 different sticks of SO-DIMM's, you put them in and turn the system on. If the system doesn't boot up, then try each individual sticks one at a time and see if you have a bad set or incompatible stick of RAM. If you haven't ordered the 2nd stick then just find a 1.5v RAM stick and order it.

Without your make and model of laptop and the 2 different RAM sticks, I can't help you much further. Not all sticks will be 100% compatible, but most are these days, so it doesn't hurt to try them together, if you already have them.
