I am building my first pc this year and i bought a b150 motherboard from MSI and it says the max MHz ram is 2133 but i bought 3000 MHz Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000 ram. Will it be compatible? I watched a video and it said that it will just lower the MHz to where the motherboard will run it.

Thanks a lot

You will be able to run it. It will auto clock it to 2133MHz instead of 3000, and if you ever move to a Z170 board or an equivalent board for future gens, you'll be able to kick that up to the actual speed.

Can actually be quite decisive in gaming performance.

This is assuming you can afford it. If one can't afford the i5 over the i3 it is pointless. Also they don't list what parts they used to OC these chips. My guess is pretty expensive cooling and Mobo's to do this and also this is assuming the OP wants/can do these OC'ing feats. I'm not doubting what the videos do, but when on a tight budget (assuming this is the case) you have to buy what you can afford.
