Hi all. I'm looking for advice. I have a amd phenom 2 965 OC to 3.8 GHZ with temps of around 60c. I want to get abit more out of it. Do I upgrade from my aftermarket fan cooler to liquid cooling or do I by Qa newer CPU?

I think it depends on your budget. If you're really limited a different cooler may help (depending which aftermarket you're currently using). Improvements are liable to be minimal though so is the upgrade cost of a cooler. If you're looking for a significant upgrade a new cpu like an i3 or higher would be more in order. That sort of upgrade would cost significantly more though.

I wont be able to go for a complete shift to intel, I was thinking of getting a amd 2 x6 1100t. my current overclock I get temps of 75c if I put it under load and it crashes. Im playing arma 3 and temps are ok but want to get more fps, currently getting 40fps at 3.8. I think I could get upto 4ghz if I had better cooler??

A new cooler will only gain you a few percent, probably less than you can perceive, while an Intel CPU may be several times faster. Don't put good money after bad.

Does your board support FX chips? That might be a worthwhile drop in upgrade.

so i upgraded to liquid cooler and i was able to get a little more from the cpu. Is it worth going from phenom 2x4 965 to phenom 2 x6 1100t or is it not worth it?
