Hey, i found some existing forum topics, but they are a bit older then this one. I'm planning to build a new PC, and i would not like to put a Skylake processor to it, because the lack of benchmark results, so i just simply don't want it. I want this pc to work for about 3-4 years, and i want to play games on it, a lot, and develop games on it. I would use it a lot. Is the 4460 a good choice for 3-4 years, from 2017, and for heavy usage?
If you have any questions, just post ask, and i'll reply to everyone.
Thank you, and have a great day!

cool, if you are limited by your budget then i'd say go for the 4460 its pretty close to the i5 6400.

got the same setup that u want, i5 4460+gtx 1060 and im rocking 60fps on 1080p everything set on ultra (except msaa and hairworks/purehair).

The i5 4460 is fine. It would last 3 years for just about anything. It's performance would be similar if not nearly identical to the Skylake i5 6400. Your reason for not wanting Skylake is odd and doesn't make any sense to me, but ok. I do recommend you at least get an i5 4590 which would perform similarly to the i5 6500.

ah the i5 4460 is still a good proc for gaming, i for 1 am still using it and i see no bottleneck from my gtx 1060. but if you are building a new rig i suggest go for skylake, the price of the build would be the same, unless you are buying a 2nd hand 4460.

My limit, that i can afford right now is 750€. I live in Hungary, everything is more expensive here, then in other countries, and with this setup (i5 4460 + GTX 1060 + all the other computer components makes their price to 745€, so i think this is good, because the 4460 is nearly the same as the 6500 as i saw in the videos, and the 1060 with 4460 makes a great pc, i think... for about 3-4 years.

I run with a i5-4460 and it is the bottleneck in my system with a 970. I makes GTA 5 lag so hard, you have to turn the settings down a lot for it to be smooth
