Hi there,

I'm looking to purchase a new motherboard as I've had my current one for around 5 years (was in an Advent desktop) and want to get something before it gives up its ghost!

I'm looking to purchase this one MSI H61MA-E35 (B3) http://www.pcupgrade.co.uk/productdetails.asp?ProductID=9778&categoryid=653

Am just wondering if the hardware I currently have will be compatible with it...

I currently have

CPU - Intel Core i5-2310 Socket H2 (LGA1155)
RAM - DDR3-1600 / PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM UDIMM NON ECC 240 pin
GPU - GT 530 PCIe v1.1 x16 (2.5 GT/s) @ x16 (2.5 GT/s)

I guess I should be upgrading to later tech but money is tight and my set up serves me :)

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Jonathan

Solution
it is compatible, though i see no reason to buy new one unless the current is dead or malfunctioning.
5 years is not the limit for MB lifespan.

Thank you very much for your quick response there.

I guess I'm just provisioning for the future plus I can build another system with the spare components I have.

Thanks again,

Jonathan
