Hey so this would be my first desktop, and I am completely new to them so I have no idea if this is remotely possible or good, but would this work?

is there anything im missing? Would this be easy to build as a first ever build? Can it run games like tf2, overwatch, cs go, dota 2 at highish fps?

Thanks for your help

For K CPU, you need Z170 mother board to fully utilize it's features.
I changed the MB, the PSU to a better quality unit, SSD to slightly larger and faster drive.
You would be better with 16GB of ram, but 8 is fine for now.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($131.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($39.95 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial MX300 275GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($66.50 @ Newegg)

Total: $1097.66

Building a computer is like lego. there are quite a few good step by step guides on youtube.
The above system will do any modern game with decent FPS.
though to utilize the 144Hz monitor (do 144FPS), some AAA titles will need i7 + GTX 1070, but that can be done on the next upgrade in few years. monitors have much longer lifespan than other components

Assuming you don't know how to OC your CPU, I selected the i7-6700, which will give you even more performance than an overclocked i5-6600k. Because of that, I managed to get a 1070 and 16GB of RAM. If you give up on the SSD you can make it for a $1000.
If you think that's too much, you can go for the 6600 non-k or go back to a 1060. There is no need to get an overclockable CPU, and pay for an aftermarket cooler and a Z MOBO.
