This is a weird one. For a build i did for my Dad, everything works great. Specifically the wifi card is fine when the antenna that screw on the back ARENT on. When they are screwed on the whole thing dies and will not boot past the windows logo. Take them off and everything is hunky dory again. I cant for the life of me figure out why. Was curious if anyone else had even heard of this or had an idea at to why that would even be a thing that affects anything.

One antenna or multiple antennas? Make and model wifi card?

I would open the case and pull the wifi card.

Inspect the wireless card, the PCI slot and surrounding area - look for anything that could be causing an electrical short. Especially around the antenna connections. Use a good magnifying glass.

Cracked electrical trace, piece of solder sticking out, metal burr, anything, missing wire insulation, anything....

Could be that the antenna's when screwed into place or otherwise tightened down are twisting something and causing an electrical short. If multiple antennas, try one at a time. Avoid over-tightening. Make sure that there is no metal to metal contact with the...
