Can I run Battlefield 1?

I have looked at the minimum specs, and they seem a bit high for the game. I thought I would ask here, as someone is bound to have a similar system. I did play the beta, and got good frames, but I am not sure if it is the same with the full game.

I highly doubt it because the 4670k is a monster of a cpu. i'm not looking at the numbers, but i'm pretty sure it's a better cpu than the 6600k or at least equal. they put these newer minimum specs to drive sales. I can tell you with 100% certainty your cpu will be fine. If anything the GPU is going to be the limiting factor.

That cpu can push a 970 w/o overclocking. a 760 is a little older, but should be able to run it in 1080p 40+ fps on some setting, but maybe time to upgrade the GPU soon? the deals now are insane for how much performance you get. drop 200$ on a 1060 and you can basically run everything @ 1080p for the next 2 years at high/ultra and another 2 at medium or so.

They claim the minimum to be a recently released Intel processor while simultaneously saying that the older, slower, FX-6350 is also the minimum.

And we have examples in this very thread of people running it below minimum spec and having it working well enough. So many people ask this question on a daily basis because they don't think their computer can run the game, when the majority of people that were playing BF4 or Battlefront should be able to.

The performance difference between a stock i5-6600k and an i5-4670k is less than 10% on a good day.

Depends on what their requirements are based on, on what kind of performance that is. For most people, including me, the Intel i5 isn't holding on to 60 fps in Battlefield 1. Only CPU's being able to hold onto 60+ fps at all times are Intel i7 CPU's, highly overclocked i5's (Still not consistently), or DDR4 RAM at 2666 Mhz frequency or higher. The game is quite a nightmare when it comes to CPU and RAM usage, especially as I can't OC my memory over DDR3-1600. I'm frequently dropping below 60 fps and It's really been hindering my performance.

And benchmarks show the FX-8350 is nearly on par with an i5-4670k, which I find weird and I'm skeptical about, but that's what Game GPU says:

^ These are just single player scores by the way. Multiplayer is far worse.

EA is a big <mod edit> company and I wouldn't be surprised if intel paid them to put the 6600k on the minimum specs. I don't look at every games specs, but I don't recall seeing K series of any generation as a minimum spec. correct me if i'm wrong, but only difference between i5 6600 and 6600k is overclocking. it doesn't make sense they would say the same chip non overclocked can't run the game well. This is all about money and trying to drive sales. There is definitely some kind of deal going on behind the scenes. EA is not as shady as activision, but they are all huge corporations with CEOs who don't even know jack about gaming. They are businessmen with no clue about computers or gaming.

An I-3 3220 should be a more realistic minimum spec and even that might be a bit high. even an i5 4460 could easily max this game out for 1080p.

42 minimum and 49 maximum with an FX-4100 I would call that pretty darn good. Even though it is a GTX1080 it is still impressive that CPU can handle it at all.

I just think they limited their own market by telling people that the Minimum was an i5-6600k.

And on that chart you see the i3-6100, a much cheaper processor than the i5-6600k, outperforming the FX-6300.

If your minimum bar is 60 FPS, that is another story, but it is not where your average gamer hangs out.

lol, that is absolutely hilarious.. the 2nd gen i3 pushes a solid 60fps fully maxed out on 1080p and they recommend an overclocked skylake i5. I was kind of guessing that intel was paying them, but after seeing that chart there is no question about it. the issue is that the games should list more requirements. They should list a 1080p recommended / minimum and then 1440p or higher. at 1080p the minimum required gear should be enough to push 35+fps on low 1080p. According to what you posted EA is saying the minimum recommended to play battlefield should support up to 139fps @ ultra, this is so redacted funny because it's completely unrealistic. I'm so fed up with these big corporate gaming companies who try to scam everyone.

What do you even mean? This most likely has nothing to do with ''scamming'' or ''advertising''. Even if it is, you can't prove it at all. Also, EA is really not that well known for just sponsoring everyone. So there certainly isn't reason to be that confident about a theory that's even less than a 50/50 true or false. It could be just poor decision making, or they have an actual reasoning behind it.

These are singleplayer numbers by the way, the minimum framerate and average are a lot lower in multiplayer.

yes you can, but the gpu is limiting you not the cpu.. the confusion is that they recommend a CPU far beyond what is needed, but then they recommend a GPU that can barely get the job done.. Your gpu is going to limit you to around 40 - 46fps on ultra... you turn it to 1080p low-medium and I would get you could get up to 60fps.

Just as a comparison, the new 200$ rx 480 / gtx 1060 both get 90+fps vs a 780ti at 78fps on ultra.. Just found a benchmark with your card on medium settings and it gets about what I was guessing. that little 1050ti for 130$ does pretty redacted well for medium 1080p.

Your system is more than powerful enough to play the game. You won't be able to run it on max settings, but you should have no problems running it at medium settings at 60fps. Dice has the system requirements really high for some reason and it's not necessary to have a 6600k. My brother still uses an old i7 870 and it will handle the game at max settings at 60+ fps no problem, and I also tested the game on an old core 2 quad gaming system and it was able to do about 45fps.
