I currently have an fx 6300, a gtx 950, a gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 1060, but I've heard my CPU will bottleneck it unless it's overclocked which I'd rather not do, since I don't know how. So what would be a good CPU and mobo? Main reason I'm choosing a 1060 is for the dual hdmi ports. Also don't have much money to spend on the 1080. One of my monitors I've been wanting to use has an hdmi port that works perfectly, but the VGA port is finicky and more than likely has a short in it.

Solution
If you go to intel 1151, you dont need the ddr4 ram, just buy a LGA1151 for ddr3 and stay with your current ram :)

So you can get a 1060, i5 6400 and the respective mobo.

If you have one monitor that can only use hdmi, what about the other monitor? Can you use dvi?
You could just upgrade the 6300 to an 8350 for $130 and keep the same Mobo. If you go intel you'll need the chip, mobo, ram.
I've had my 6300 up to 4.0ghz on just a multiplier change on the stock cooler without having to change the voltage.

My budget is roughly $400. The other monitor can use VGA/dvi but its the weird side of me that just wants either two of the same display ports. Like two HDMI, two VGA etc. I want to stay with AMD. So the 8350 is good and won't bottle neck the 1060?

Spending $130 for a 8350 right now is a really bad idea, am3+ has been quite dead for some time, you should switch to intel or wait for the new zen CPUs, anyway, get the 1060, and upgrade the mobo/cpu later. You can get a nice i5 combo for $300
