How is 546Mb 74% of 16Gb ????

RAM compression is nothing to worry about. It's actually a good thing. If you go to the `performance` tab and at the bottom click `open resource monitor`. In there you'll be able to see in more detail what the memory useage is all about.

In here you can also check your hardware reserved memory, which could be another possible reason.

Hope this helps!

The standard task manager doesn't show everything. What Windows are you using? Assuming for now it is Win 7, there is a button at the bottom of the processes tab which says `show processes from all users`. Click that for more a more detailed view. You're best bet though is to download a third party tool. "Process Explorer" is a good one. Once you've found what is using all that memory you can do something about it...

Also, Windows task manager does not include data of standby memory, which is used to quickly allocate commonly used data into working memory. Use the resouce monitor to get a better idea of what your dealing with. This is my laptop running just chrome and spotify in the foreground. You wouldn't expect over half of 8GB to be used for music and chrome, and it's not. Just a large amount of standby memory.

You can access resource monitor through the performance tab of task manager at the bottom left.
