So, as the topic said, having a somewhat annoying issue with my fan ramping up for no apparent reason over the 2 or 3 days now., after roughly 9 months since getting it. Til now it has run pretty cool and at fairly low speeds - even through lonnnnng gaming sessions.

To get specs out of the way (not that it's really relevant), FX 8350/ Asus M5A97 LE R2.0/ the stated PSU/ 16gb of meh 1866mhz HyperX Fury ram

Now, first of all, I realllllly don't care that it's cheap. So lets avoid that point eh? I knew that going in, it was 44 damn dollars. Lol.

It's been about 2 weeks since I got my Cryorig H7 and put it in (that x-bar crud is ridiculously terrible. cools great though) this is literally the only thing that has changed in the interim. Was the stock amd heatsink before.

So, my power supply fan has essentially been hitting up around the max speed - Fine, I figured whatever, it probably needs the dust cleaned out. So I do that, but I did this directly after a gaming session and I noticed while cleaning that the psu heatsinks were very cold. I go ahead and finish cleaning it, and it was gross. I blew into it at one point after cleaning off the blade and it was like an explosion happened.

Now, even after cleaning it is still running hard for some reason. any tips, any leads? My guess is something is screwy with their fan control whatever nonsense in it. Since it still runs through the full speed range. just jumps way to fast.

Max +12V1 Output Current 48 Amps ......A 750W power supply with a 12v + rail of only 48 amps in is a very poor PSU , anything can happen with lower end PSU's. Just watch your system closely the fan issue might lead to bigger issues. I agree the Cryorig H7 cools very very well.

While some sentey psu's definitely are bad. It's not the worst thing out there, so I'd say "horrible" is pushing it a bit, actually a lot.. regardless of how cruddy they tend to be, it wasn't my choice and I can't upgrade at the moment. (assume "I" means my wife in the sense of who chose what to buy) sooooooooooo. back to the actual point.

48amps is what I would honestly call, eh, decent? When it comes to the low budget range. Annnnyways. What I do know for a fact is I can run a powerhungry overclocked 390 even on this crappy psu. So, I think that says enough to be "acceptable"

Also, yeah, it cools pretty well considering I was just benchmarking some of the more intensive areas in fallout 4 with Overdrive. (If it was any bit accurate for me today, my worst thermal margin was 44c (unfortunately I don't know if that's calculating from 61c, 62c, or 70c~) 17c seems... a bit much to believe
