WD My Passport Ultra does not mount on my mac or windows laptop

My WD My passport Ultra 1TB does not mount on my macbook or windows laptop anymore.
i can see it in disk utility but nothing else. A few days ago i was transferring a big file to my passport from macbook and it got stuck. i tried to cancel it but it didn't work, so i ejected it and left it there. now after few days when i tried to use it. it doesn't show. i can just see it on disk utility, there is also a slight click sound every 5 mins or so from the HD.
I have some important pictures from my phone on it which i need to retain. please help

That is really unpleasant. :(

Clicking sounds are not really a good thing when it comes to mechanical drives. Yet, sometimes, similar sounds could be a result of not enough power supplied to the device. So, my suggestion would be to attach the drive with another USB cable to another computer.

In case the issue persists, unfortunately, you will not be able to access the drive with software tools. Taking into account the fact that the data stored on the drive is really important, my advice would be to contact a data recovery company. You can check WD's Data Recovery Partners out: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=sRIORI
