Hey there, @ChrisPy96!

Could you determine where this little crack sound was coming from? I'd advise you to power down the system and re-seat all the connections inside the PC. Making sure that everything is properly mounted and seated. I'd also suggest you swap the SATA port where the HDD is connected and see if that will make the drive recognized. Another thing that could help is a BIOS reset. It will get the settings back to factory defaults, so you will need to re-configure all manual changes you have made in the interface so far (SATA mode to AHCI, boot priority etc.).

I'd also check the mobo manufacturer's official website for newer BIOS versions and SATA controller & Chipset driver updates.

If you have access to another working PC, check how the HDD is recognized there. This will help us determine what could be the source of the issue.

Keep me posted. :)

Well the HDD is dead for sure i double checked with my old pc and replugged all cables and checked all conections my though is that the SATA and the PCIE/ CPU connectors on the PSU where switched by accident and noone noticed it. This theory supports itself on the fact that during the short time i used the pc with that psu my gpu was down on power massively i ran heaven benchmark and i had 1-4 fps usually i have about 100 with my 1070 this probably was the case because the gpu didnt get enough jouice from the low power SATA connection.

Ill contact Corsair support later and send the psu in and ask for a refund on my broken HDD.
