Looking to gift a very light gaming build using old parts to a friend. She is a very casual gamer (e.g. she's played quite a bit of Skyrim on Xbox 360). Idea is to hook this build up to her TV via HDMI.
She does NOT care about, nor notices the difference, when it comes to framerate, anti-aliasing, load times, etc. as long as the game plays relatively smoothly (target: 30-60fps @ 1080p).
1. Overall thoughts about this build?
2. How much of a hindrance is the SATA II hard drive? It spins fast but cache is limited (and from what I understand, SATA II vs III throughput is negligible on mechanical drives).
3. I would still have to buy a few things including the motherboard. I'm struggling with a limited and overpriced selection of LGA 1155 boards on Amazon and Newegg. Any recommendations or advice? Again, looking to stay cheap.
Thanks in advance!
