So I currently have an i5-6600K and it is the next thing I need to upgrade on my PC. I want to wait for the i7-7700K as opposed to the i7-6700K because the difference in price is not really a big deal to me as coming from an i5-6600K will show a decent performance increase.
What I am worried about is the demand at launch and whether this will turn into another GTX 1080 fiasco. I could not even find a 1080 to buy at all let alone buy at above market price for the first month and a half that it was released.
I want the 7700K but I do not want to wait until mid-February or early March to be able to buy it. Do you anticipate the demand for the 7700K will cause the lack of availability that we saw in the 1080? Or will I be able to buy it day one no problems? Any insight on the release of the 6700K would help.
