Hi all,

My first build, had a few hiccups but figured it all out eventually. However, my CPU cooling system is not functioning right. If I install it as instructed, it's not touching the CPU which causes it to overheat to 100c. If I push on it with my fingers and force the cooling to physical connect with the CPU goes down back to 30c.

Now I've tried screwing it all in again, I've tried buying a better thermal paste, cleaning and reapplying, but it seems only physical force works.

My question is, is it possible that I have a defected cooling system or is the cooling system just bit compatible with my motherboard? It's driving me nuts, I just want to get work done already.

Thanks in advance!

I added padding to the metal piece that keeps the CPU Cooler in place and that seems to have solved the problem. DIY pressure. Thanks for the suggestion regarding the other cooler, I might get it as a back up.
