Choosing new Graphic Card

Note: To help out here, I'm gaming on a 1920x1080 monitor with 144ghz refresh rate. As well as in the coming months hope get a new mobo and cpu. Currently have fx 8320.

So amazon is having holiday sales and gtx 1070's are priced quite well. And I'm looking at 2. Also to note I like to Live stream and do gameplay recordings.

MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X at $394 with a $20 rebate. Putting it at $374:

Any real difference between the two??

Or should I come out of left field and get a RX 480 8 gb msi version??

I am upgrading from a GTX 770. So I know anything here is a massive upgrade. I bring up RX only because I see at as another opportunity, however I've always been with NVIDIA.

Go for the MSI 1070. It's leaps ahead of the AMD offerings as of now, and MSI have the better customer service vs ASUS, as well as the Twin Frozr on the Gaming X being a fantastic cooler

MSI quality control is poor , I'd take the ASUS.

Honestly I'd go with a gigabyte variant, they're the best to deal with and make a good product.

i thought it was the msi motherboards which had the poor quality control, i thought that the MSI gpu are pretty good with good coolers

I'd still go with Gigabyte, whilst the MSI coolers are decent, the quality control is just good, not great. Gigabyte are a pleasure to deal with. Normally I'd suggest EVGA but with the recent burning issue I'll be holding that recommendation.

Out of curiosity here, what is the main difference between the Gigabyte OC vs G1?

Cooling solution is better on the G1 and it has a higher Overclock. More recommendable card, but if you're on a budget the OC is still a good card.
