So you guys know its that time of the year where we ask parents for things and i wanted to know should i upgrade my cpu to a i7 4790k

No reason really then. The ~$300 you would be dropping on a 4790k would not give you much of a boost in performance.

You are probably better getting a new GPU if your performance isn't as good as you would like.

Actually i just ordered my i7 4790k a few minutes ago. If you want to run games like Battlefield 1 on ultra with no worries then go for it, i feel like cpu intensive games are becoming more renowned. Im not a professional all i can say is from what iv researched

The difference between a 4690k and a 4790k is in no way worth ~$300.

If he didn't have the 4690k already than a 4790k wouldn't be a bad choice.
