I just built a new computer. I put it together and turned it on. All the fans work and the mobo is also working. Nothing posts to the monitor.

I checked several things and then decided to take everything out of the case and turn on the mobo and it posted to monitor and went to bios setup just fine.

I assumed there was a wire touching, Something. I reassembled inside the case making sure everything was clear of the motherboard.

Still won't post inside the motherboard. Checked, ram, wires, gpu, everything is working great.

At a loss for what to try next.

Corsair 400c case
Asus Atx 170a mobo.

Any suggestions?

Solution
Any rivets protruding through the motherboard tray? Have you tried with the IO backplate removed? You might also try using those red fiber insulators under the screws and motherboard stand offs. Also, what CPU cooler are you using. If using a big, heavy air cooler, the weight may be causing an issue when the board is vertical. This is known to be a problem on 1151 socket mobos.

Thanks for taking the time to post man. I appreciate it. I went ahead and took the IO shield out and it's now working. Must have been a weird issue with it. Thanks for the suggestion. That was very frustrating
