Ok so let me start with my system specs, I have an I5 6400 rx 480 16gbs of ddr4 600 80+ psu and a MSI B150M BAZOOKA. I upgrade one at a time not just all at once so I had a question for you guys. I'm going to be upgrading my Cpu and hard drive this time around I play games like Arma and BF1 and mmos and rpgs plus rts's like Warhammer total war. So a ssd and a cpu is quite a good upgrade for me. I was thinking of going with a i7 6700, but for 10 dollars more you can get a 6700k right now. I know my mobo cant overclock but in the future I will probably buy one that can and I feel like having the k will also expand the life of my processor also. So is there any reason I couldn't upgrade to the 6700k or why it wouldn't be smart to? Thanks for you're replies.

If you have the budget for an i7 and there is only $10 difference between the locked and unlocked version, go with the later.
Depending on your planned lifetime you might want to stay on the i7.
Otherwise i'd suggest an i5-6600K and putting the price difference either in decent cooling or in a bigger graphics card.
You save almost $100, which should be enough to go one model higher in the lineup.

There's no reason not to buy the i7 6700k. Sure you can't overclock with it since the bios is locked, but it's a great CPU on its own as well. And if you are getting an unlocked motherboard in the future then there's all the more reason to get this CPU.
