Hi, I'm building my first computer. I have bought an Asus m5a99x evo r2.0 motherboard. I ordered 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Low Profile 16GX3M2A1600C10B.
My cpu will be an amd fx 6300.

I'm beginning to panic now as to ram compatibility. I had listened to a friend who said any ddr3 would be OK but not from what I'm reading online. Please help a noob.

Thanks Tradesman1 , that's put my mind at ease. I'm looking forward to attempting this build this weekend. Plenty more time for some more you tube videos etc.

Thanks Tradesman1. Here's my components,
Fractal designs r4
2 extra case fans (4 in total)
620W Seasonic EVO
m5a99x evo r2.0
Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Low Profile
Cooler master hyper 212x
AMD rx 6300
Plus old an old graphics card from my dead computer
1GB Gainward GTX 550 Ti
AMD an ssd and a couple of hard drives.

I hope all this goes together easily. I'm going to use arctic silver 5 for the cpu but after reading I ordered arctic mx-4 instead as I'm worried about as5 being conductive. Unfortunately the mx-4 order got messed up so it isn't going to arrive in time. Thinking now just to use the cooler master supplied paste. What's your thoughts? Also any tips or tricks you can give would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

I think I've done it. Plugging in shortly. I did have some confusion regarding the fans. I've attached the rear and the top exhaust fans to the mobo and I've connected the front two fans to the fan controller on the case ( at least I think that's what I've done). Does this seem correct. As the fan controller only has 3 connectors and the mobo only has 3 as well. What's best for my 4 fans?

Couldn't connect. The error is get is, ethernet 2 doesn't have a valid IP configuration. I'll investigate more when I get home tomorrow, but any help would be great.

Fixed. I unplugged both Powerline extenders and reconnected them before plugging the router and computer to them. All good. Thanks for all the help. I'm up and running, very happy.
