Hello dear Tom's Hardware mates.

about 1h ago, don't know why my back fan of the case stopped working, he also had Blue Led that not make light.

There is orange flickering color of error near it, in the USB connectors area.

sometimes the fan spine to 3 sec and stop, the blue led colors working and stop also.

the fan itself connected to 3 pin I think and there 5 wire colors, 2 red, 2 black, 1 yellow.

any idea why he stopped working and how fix it please?
much appreciate the help.

Solution
most likely the fan is defective, maybe something with the power distribution to the rotor or the bearing.

if your case supports 120mm fans, go for a 120mm fan. the samller the fan, the less air they push and the louder they are.
it's always better to use the biggest size fans your case supports.

all other things you said, I didn't quite understand, sorry

Thank you dear friends.
my cpu fan died like 2 weeks ago, I played rainbow six siege without know he not working..
in past friday I went to store switch the Cpu fan.

back case fan is 5 years old (pc itself) should be more easier to switch, umm is connected to the motherboard, hard to read I think is CHA_FAN
is near a blue kind of connection that noting connect to it, near it the connection of this back fan of the case.

using fan speed program name: CPUID HWMonitor and the RPM of "sys fan" (back case) turn to 165-225 and turn to 0 .
he used to be like 850+ RPM before..

hope you understand and if the answer just switch just confirm if can, is my first time he do that.

another question, if I have 1 cooling fan of 120mm, There are no mounting holes for additional fan, I can use zip-ties to hold him in position?
the "new" front fan should be 120mm or can be 92mm or 90\80 ?
or try put on celling 120mm or 140mm ?

Thanks alot.

can you help me select please? not sure about RPM \ quite...

http://en.ksp.co.il/?select=.1066..39..186..172.&list=1&sort=2&glist=0&uin=0&txt_search=&buy=&minprice=0&maxprice=0&intersect=

or every 120mm can do the work?

and the different btw front cooling fan and back heat fan is just how install them?

Thanks mates.

Fans are highly over marketed. They come up with the most ridiculous claims to sell their fans.

1000-1400rpm is easily enough as rear exhaust.
Of that shop, if you can afford it a Noctua S12B is easily the best fan imo, the S12A would be fine as well.

If you care about looks, Corsair MLs are fine, other corsair fans are rather junk compared to.the Noctuas

I wouldn't use the AF120 as front intake. just pushes too little air and has too little pressure.
it's an okayish exhaust.

I'm currently putting together a list of different fans, so far there's only 7 I compared but those are pretty popular ones:

Fan Name - bearing - air pushed (m³/h] - pressure noise
BeQuiet SW 2 FDB 85.8m³/h 1,63mmH₂O 15.70db(A)
Corsair AF120 HDB 88.7m³/h 0,75mmH₂O 25.20db(A)
Corsair SP120 HDB 63.97m³/h 1,29mmH₂O 23db(A)
Cougar CFD D12HB FDB 109.42m³/h 1,74mmH₂O 16.60db(A)
Noctua S12B SSO2 100.6m³/h 1,31mmH₂O 18.1db(A)
Noiseblocker BlackSilent XL1 Sleeve 69m³/h 1,39mmH₂O 13db(A)
Phanteks F120 magnetic 86.17m³/h 1mmH₂O 23.5db(A)

the AF120 can't really compete with the Noctua on any level other than looks
but yeah, the Noctuas are plain ugly

number of fan blades, size of those, shape of the blades are things the engineers are concerned with in order to get the best performance / noise possible
it doesn't matter as all these things play together, in the end you have to compare the fans how they work as a whole

amazing Isokolon.
so I'll go with 2 Noctua S12B, what good for the pc will be good for me ^^

umm I just didn't saw answer about "rear" and "front" fans xd

every fan is "same" (making air) just swap the side of the spine for rear area and front area ? (how can know?)

Thanks again Isokolon, much appreciate the help, you save my day.

hey last question please-
What different between NOCTUA NF-S12B redux-1200 12cm 1200RPM to NF-S12B redux-1200 (PWM) 12cm 1200RPM ?
same but with PWM, which better to use? same price.

Thanks :)

Depends on your mainboard.
Personally I prefer 3 Pin fans other people PWM fans

If it's a good modern Mainboard it will support both
If it's a cheap or old Board it might only Support 3 Pin fans

4 Pin fans are speed-regulated by the PWM Signal
3 Pin fans by voltage regulation

PC pretty old, 5y old and counting ^^
I go for the 3 pin, not so expert to try PWM, hope not make problems.
I let the voltage regulation do the work, not sure if my old Mainboard support.

Thanks again Isokolon, great support mate.

Well with older boards I'd take a look at the Fan header and the Fan control Software.

If it's a 4 Pin Header I'd prefer PWM on an older Board because some of those older boards have horrible 3-steps Vorlage regulation which lets your Fan Spin on either 100%, 70% or 40%
If it comes with a nice Fan control Software (like qFan for older Asus boards for example) a 3Pin is fine
