I have Dell 3148 and Been using it since September 2015. It was amazing until Several months but now has a major problem. When I turn on my laptop and then just play any game, My Laptop fan starts making noise which is very loud and my laptop slows down. Games drop from 30-40 FPS to 10-15 FPS.. It was amazing earlier. I mean, There is something wrong with my laptop, even when I use it normally. Its fan turns on and laptop slows down. My laptop also heats up but when it is cool still the same problem occurs. Please help Sir.Sometimes My laptop is fine

Thats throtteling. It is a feature of the CPU to not overheat. If the temps go too high, the speed goes down to generate less heat and not cause damages. Of course then the cpu should go back up if the temps are good again. A Notebook that has only a temp of 50-51°C and is still throtteling is kind of strange. There are some other things that can reduce the speed like a disconnected power plug. If the notebook runs on battery then most models will decrease performance by limiting the clocks to reduce power consumption. Maybe your power brick has a problem (just unplug the battery and try the game only with direct power supply, if it dies on the way you should probably look for a new power brick).

But i would still open the notebook...
Hi there Shubham_40,

Most probably, your laptop is overheating. You can see if this is the case if you just use some software tool that can measure the temps.
I believe you will need to clean the dust out of the laptop and reapply thermal paste. You can take it to a repair shop.

Let me know in case you have some more questions,

Thanks for answering.
When laptop is fine, temperature is 44-45 C but when problem occurs temperature becomes 50-51 C . Is it overheated?

50-51°C is not really overheated, it's actually still very good in terms of temps. Take a look at the clocks of your GPU/CPU under load with a tool like MSI Afterburner or something similar. Look if the clocks go down or if they are jumping around.

Just start it and it will show all hardware clocks and temps in a timeline. You can see the change in the clocks and the increase in temps on load. If your GPU or CPU frequence jumps around or starts high and goes down with time then you have a throtteling problem.

To create load on the CPU/GPU you can use a simple program like MSI Kombustor to stress both cores.

When My laptop is fine, The Cpu CLock is 1896 Mhz But when it is lagging clocks go to 798Mhz

But i would still open the notebook case and clean out the CPU fan. They accumulate a lot of dust between the fan and heatsink. It's always better to eliminate possible error causes directly, Maybe the heat sensor is damaged and shows wrong temp results or something like that.
