So currently I am using GTX 750 Ti with an i5 2320 3.0 Ghz processor, with 12GB of DDR3 RAM .
The 750 Ti is really struggling at 1080P , so it's time for an upgrade it seems !

So , I saw that GTX 1060 3GB performs really close to the expensive 6gb brother. Now will GTX 1060 3gb be bottlenecked by the 2nd Gen i5 2320 ??

Another thing, is it wise to buy a 3gb Card in 2016 ?? I am not planning to go over 1080P in the future too..
Or should I really just ditch this and get the RX 470 (which is about 15-20% slower but with more VRAM ) or the GTX 1060 6gb (which is about $72 or Rs. 5000 more here in India ) ??

Thanks !

I think you should go with the 6GB version.I had a 3GB GPU and its vram bottlenecks it severely sometimes.Example Shadow of mordor constantly microstutters with 4K textures on a 3GB GPU.Some vram intensive games may also stutter when the gpu has to stop, clear the vram and start over.GTA 5 used to freeze for about a second and then drop me to low 30s with a 3GB GPU too.And no that I5 is just fine.

I think that i5 should be fast enough. Some games are CPU intensive but most will be fine on an older i5 I think.

As for the 3GB vs 6GB, I don't think it's worth another $70, at 1080p you'll probably be fine with 3GB.

But let's see what other people have to say...

I have an i5-2500/1333mhz 8gb ram/1060 3gb and couldn't break 100 fps(got 90-95 fps) in overwatch on ultra. If you have a i5-6600k/i7-6700/k you will get over 150 fps on same settings. So its more of performance that can be had with newer hardware more than a bottleneck, i7-3770k/GTX 970 will get 140 fps on ultra in overwatch and that gpu is slower than a 1060 by about 5-10%
