Intel i3-7100U, i5-7200U and i7-7500U TDP

The i3-7100U, i5-7200U and i7-7500U are all 15W TDP CPU's but they can be configured by the OEM to run at 7.5W and in the case of the i5-7200U and i5-7500U they can also be configured to run at 25W TDP.

My question is how do you know which CPU TDP Configuration the OEM is selling?

I would be interested in an i5-7500U @ 25W TDP but I would feel like I've been ripped off if I got an identical CPU that was set to 7.5W TDP.

Its my understanding that this is not a user adjustable setting.

Solution
They should say the cpu speed. If it's higher than the stock speed then you know. You could also look up reviews which I would do. They could always set it higher but a poor laptop design could have it overheat a lot and throttle.
