Hi, so I am making a new build and
I am gonna get the Asrock Z170 Extreme4 with a i7-6700k
I read in a tom's hardware review that the Asrock Z170 Extreme4
with a i7-6700k was able to run the trident z if I am not mistaken at 2933mhz,
I was wondering if with this build I could run this memory:
Corsair Vengeance Lpx 2x8GB DDR4 DRAM 3000mhz C15,
(CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)

I know how to overclock my cpu and set ram speeds
but I don't really know how to mess around with ram timings and stuff
I read in case of need I could increase the voltage a little
to make it work with xmp and I was wondering if
I would need to do something in order to boot
or if even need to flash my bios.
would it be compatible? any help will be welcome xd

Solution
well yes. if it doesn't run at full speed, it will at least run on 2133 which is the default DDR4 speed. then all you have to do is enable XMP. in bios and all the voltages and timings will be tuned for you, courtesy of the bios maker and brand XMP profile. really it will work no matter what, but as of the speed just enable XMP.

-Cycle Time 1 CLK
-tCL - 15 CLK
-tRCD - 17 CLK
-tRP - 17 CLK
-tRAS - 35 CLK
-tRFC - 525 CLK
-tRRD - 6 CLK
-tRRD_L - 8 CLK
-tFAW - 33 CLK
