I built my own custom PC a long while back. Probably about 3 months ago. Just today my rear USB ports stopped working. Nothing that goes into them is detected. I have a feeling I am going to have to go in and replug some wiring, but I do not want to have to take apart my computer. Any suggestions?

Update: Just checked the wiring - nothing. I wondered if it was an OS problem so I plugged in a USB hard drive and checked to see if my BIOS would detect it. Nothing.

Specs:
i5-6400 3.4 Ghz
Gigabyte h110m-a
8GB DDR4
Gtx 1060

Are your drivers up to date from the motherboard vendors website? Windows may have 'helpfully' updated those, to something incompatible. I'd try that first (especially since you'veconfirmed no loose cabling etc).

As an FYI, you might want to remove your 'bump' - I believe it's against forum rules, outside of the classified section.

I just did a complete factory reset with no difference. I'll search for an update and report back

There are no updates. The manufacturer's website doesn't have much to offer either.

I recently installed a new CPU cooler to my CPU and touched the motherboard quite a bit. Could this be a potential cause to the issue?
