Hey all,

Looking to buy this pc soon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/VR-Ready-Gaming-PC-Motherboard/dp/B01IW42ORC/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479942999&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=1060+pc+buiold

I'm trying to ignore the 1 star review because its from someone who isn't a verified purchaser and has left the same review on all the products listed on the amazon page. But it still makes me wonder, is this acctually a rip off? i don.t think it is, but let me know your opinions!

Better yet, if you know a pc build (pre-built, my mum doesnt trust me to build it :() that has a 1060+ for around £800, and is on amazon, leave me a link.

Cheers!

It's a bit overpriced. Here's a similar build using components found on UK PC Part Picker:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£209.94 @ Aria PC)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X31 69.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£69.40 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: ASRock H170 Pro4/D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£76.12 @ More Computers)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£73.98 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£39.59 @ Novatech)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£40.20 @ Aria PC)

The reviewer is right, it's over-priced, and they have put a (non-overclockable) h110 board with a k-series chip and an cheap SSD too small for it to be of any use.

All those pre-built systems and bundles on Amazon are way over-priced and it's a lot cheaper to build yourself, or get someone to build it locally.

I tried to match components as best I can, but there are some caveats I'd point out:

1) Intel Core I5-6600K processor on an H110 motherboard - Why get a "K" processor with an H110 motherboard?
2) Bronze 80+ power supply, but you don't know the manufacturer. Antec or Seasonic, sure. Bob's Power Supplies, I'd probably pass.
3) There is no OS installed and needs to be purchased separately.
