Can I safely over clock with these temps? Prime95 20 min stress

Hi all,

So i have just got done doing a stress test on my new build (specs below) and i was wondering that, based off the temp, can I overclock an extra 100mhz safely?

After stress testing with prime95 for 20 minutes, My cpu temp reached 54c and stayed steady for around 10 minutes (this is after the 20 minutes, so then 10 more minutes at full load at 54c). I should mention that i have unlocked 2 more cores on my phenom II so i cant get individual core temperatures, but i can obviously "re-lock" them to get core temp monitoring back.

So, are these temps good for max load?
Can i overclock to 3.5ghz without throttling?

specs

probably not needed, but someone might need them to give me a hand :)

ASUS M4A87TD evo
AMD Phenom II X2 B59 dual core 3.4ghz (when unlocked, name changed to Athlon II X4 559, dunno why)
XMS3 DDR3 Corsair 4x2 RAM
NVIDIA Geforce GT640 2GB from EVGA *possibly dead* (no drivers because of black screen plus lock up when they are installed...)
Poor quality Kenteck 650W PSU *will replace when i have the money* (most likely <450W)

Thanks in advanced for the help!

54c is very cool, go all out. Only worry if you're starting to get into the high 80's. If you're really paranoid, then don't go above 80 but 90 is where you should worry.

Thanks for the answer :D

So i overclocked to 3.7Ghz and i had only a 1-2 degree increase! I have never overclocked before but that looks like good news to me! Will push it harder, hoping to hit 4Ghz, though it might be a stretch because im sure the relationship of clock speed to heat dissipation is not linear. Its odd though because it seems that the mobo chose that clock speed (3.68) as target automatically in the bios. Now i just have to figure out how to change the target (dont really want to change the voltage by myself yet)
