Hi, I'm looking at getting the Asus ROG Strix x99 Gaming motherboard for my new build.

The issue is that the case fans that come with the case I'm interested in buying (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133299) and other 200mm fans I plan on adding are 3 pin only. The Asus specification page for the motherboard states that it has 4 4-pin fan headers and 1 high amp fan header. It states that the 4-pin headers also have DC fan support. So my question is will i be able to control the speed of 3-pin fans when attached to these 4-pin fan headers with Asus FanExpert4? and would a 3-pin fan also work in the high amp fan header?
I hope to set up my Fans so that they will automatically adjust speed based on temperature requirements, as such, I would prefer not to have them always be running on full blast, as I believe typically happens when attaching 3 pin fans to 4 pin only headers.
