This is a recurring problem that I cannot for the life of me find a solution to. My CPU overheats constantly. On idle it's anywhere from 40-65 degrees Celsius, and if I launch a game it will quickly hit 80 degrees celsius; at that point my computer automatically shuts down (it doesn't restart, I have to manually turn it on again).
Normally, I will naturally respond by getting some compressed air and cleaning out the case, and/or apply some thermal paste to the CPU. This usually works for about a month or two, and then...the overheating starts up again. Rinse and repeat. All my fans are working, my cooling mechanisms are fine as far as I can see. I have no idea what the problem is.
