What happened to your 860k? There is not really anything stronger than that... well not noticeably at least. There is a 880k but it's not worth it if you still have the 860k. There are various A10s that would be comparable to your 860k, but have a decently strong integrated graphics possibly even stronger than your $50 gpu.


So what all parts do you still have?

I have not purchased the 860k yet, that was what i got before on my last budget build for a friend. Now that I have this RMA'd mainboard I want to put something in it and was thinking maybe one of those A10s with GPUs would be better. If you think the 860k is better than an A10 with gpu Ill go for it and just get another GFX card for the video. I jsut figured if i pay $80 860k plus a $50 gfx card maybe there is a better bang for the buck in an A10 or somthing else.

So you think the 860k with the gfx card is the best bang for the buck?

If so Im going to order today or tomorrow from newegg.

I haven't gotten at GFX card yet but I put a GeForce GT 710 in my friends for like $46. He edits videos and It seems to do the job.

If there is a better combo, like a cheaper processor / more expensive gfx card or vice versa, I am open to suggestions. I am only using this board because my friends went bad, i bought him a new one and RMA'd this one so now I want to do something with it.
Next time I will probably be getting an intel board now that I have learned how much better they are and that GHz means very little in terms of overall performance when comparing CPUs.


edit: Is it pointless to get a case with usb 3.0 slots since this board doesnt have the connection for usb 3.0? It does have them on the board itself but no connection for it from a case ....

thats good news!

Now, can you answer me this? ..... The board has usb 3.0 but apparently does not usb 3.0 connection for cases with 3.0 ports in the front. Is there a way to add this or is this just something I will have to deal with .... ?
