Is a Intel 600p or a Samsung 960 Evo compatible with my GA-Z97-D3H motherboard?

Hello peeps, I have the Gigabyte Z97 D3H motherboard and I'm planning to buy the Intel SSD 600p series 1tb to use as a data storage. I am wondering if it would be compatible with my motherboard. I read in a forum somewhere that the Z97 D3H have a m.2 slot in PCIE 2.0 x4 lane, but I'm not sure if it's true or not. If it's not compatible should I get this add on? Addonics ADM2PX4 M2 Pcie Ssd Pcie 3.0 4-lane Accs Adapter, I'm only using 1 GPU on the motherboard anyway and the lane below the GPU is a PCIE 2.0 x16 running in x4 lane. I don't mind spending an extra $20 to get an add on. Putting a GPU in PCIE 3.0 x16 and a NVME in PCIE 2.0 x4 won't affect the GPU performance right? Or a second option for M.2, get a Samsung 950 Pro 512GB instead. Since I heard Samsung have their own tool for M.2 compatibility with motherboard. Thanks for the help.

I found the forum that says the motherboard is M.2 slot is PCIE 2.0 x4 here is the link.
Here is the Gigabyte specification page for the GA-Z97-D3H motherboard. They didn't list if their M.2 slot is PCIE 2.0 x4 or PCIE 3.0 x4 or in x2 lane. So yea. :??::??:

Solution
Your mobo has the correct M.2 slot. However, if you use the M.2 port, a couple of the sata ports get turned off (check the mobo manual). Hopefully, use don't need these sata ports. You'll also probably need to upgrade to the latest version of the bios. You need to make sure that the NVMe protocol is available in bios. The NVMe protocol allows the M.2 drive to act as the boot drive.
