Sorry if this is a noob question! But I'm about to buy an Asus GTX1060 card on Amazon. I also see a GTX980 Ti on the Facebook Marketplace that is in my price range. Which one should I get?

Also what is more important the memory bit width or the base/boost clock in terms of specifications? (I am upgrading from an GTX780 (it was 384 bits and the GTX1060 is only 192 bits [Will this downgrade effect my performance?])

The reason why I ask because I see that the Asus GTX1060 has must higher base/boost clock than the GTX980 Ti (although apparently it performs as well as a GTX1070)

Thanks in advance :D

Solution
Hey Brendan,
the GTX 980 Ti is the better card in a side by side comparison.

The memory bandwidth is used to determine how fast a card can transfer data at one time. Theoretically speaking, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti is quicker than the GeForce GTX 1060 in general, because of its higher data rate.

The differences in the clock speeds will not have any extreme impact on your performance, however the 1060 has newer tech therefore has a lot more compatibility with new features like VR.

Cheers

Personally I don't see myself being an enthusiast of VR. I prefer to play RPG style games in high definition and occasionally work with software development tools that benefit from a strong graphics card. My choice personally would be the 980Ti.
