Hey, guys so I don't know what to do. I keep looking a countless benchmarks the moment I decide on the 1060 I see a game I like that won't be able to run in 60 FPS on ultra. I need help deciding between the two I'm going to be playing on a 1080p monitor and I want to play all games on ultra settings. I would like the video card to last me atleast 2 years and I plan on playing open world games like Skyrim heavily modded and fallout. I just want help also if depending which graphic card I get what type of aftermarket card would you recommend. I don't plan on doing anything else but game at 1080p. Basically I just want to know if it's worth paying almost double the price for a 1070 or if I should just get a 1060 and upgrade in 2 years.

The 1070 is a 1440p card. Or a 1080p card if you have a high refresh monitor and just can't stand not getting 144FPS in everything.

There are always going to be games you can't max no matter what you get. A GTX 1060 is a very good choice for a couple of years at 1080p.

Here is a great real world comparison.

It really depends on several things.

1. Are you adding a video card to an existing build or building a new PC from scratch?
2. Budget. Does getting a GTX1070 mean having to cut costs elsewhere in the build?
3. 60hz or 144hz monitor?

1070 is 40% faster but at 1080p, i think it will be alot better to have 1060, it can easily play any game at high-ultra settings for next 2-3 years, just turn down AA and some heavy settings like hbao in some games, you will not notice any major difference in visual quality.

I think its all about whether you want to pay double price to get some minor graphics improvements.
