Connect 8-pin GPU with 6-pin PCI-e connector

I have a Cooler Master Elite 460W PSU and I'm planning on buying an EVGA GeForce GTX1060 Gaming GPU.

My issue is that this GPU requires a single 8-pin PCI-e power connector while my PSU has only 1 6-pin PCI-e Power connector. I know for sure that the power supply is sufficient for this GPU because power draw on the website rates it at 120W- the same as the GTX1060 SC (Single fan) which sports a single 6-pin PCI-e Power Connector.

Q1. Is GTX 1060 GAMING worth buying over the GTX 1060 SC (Single Fan) or is the latter better and why?

Q2. If I am going in for the 1060 with the 8-pin Connector, what are my options?

The answer is fairly simple.

AFAIK, the only solution is to use two adapters. At least one of them should come with the GPU.

#1 - 2xMOLEX-> 6-pin
and
#2 - 2x6-pin-> 8-pin

The MOLEX adapter draws from the same 12-volt pool in the PSU to supply up to about 75W through the 6-pin connector.

The 2x6-pin is then using that, and another 75W from the same 12-volt pool, via the 6-pin PSU connection again so it's all coming from the same source.

(as well, you have the MAIN connector supplying up to approximately 75W through the motherboard, so you'll get some combo of the motherboard + 8-pin used for power).

Update:
Most of the 1060's come with a 2x6-pin-> 8-pin, so you just need to buy THIS one:

Some local stores may sell for about $5. They also come with other video cards so someone you know might have one already.

*Also, the 2x6-pin -> 8-pin included should work fine without the extra 6-pin anyway.

Since you know the power requirement and can count on roughly 80W or so via the motherboard then there simply should be no issue drawing power via the included adapter WITHOUT adding the other 6-pin.

It's possible I'm wrong somehow, but I can't think of a good reason why that would be so.

If you go to PC shop to buy 6+2 pin to 2 molex adapter, check the cable label, make sure it labeled 16 or 14 AWG usually with two yellow and two black wires. 16 and 14 AWG is rated 10 amp so 10 amp * 12 volt = 120 watt
