Last time when i was here a few weeks ago there was a link to a webstie where i only had to type in my motherboards name/serial number and it showed me which ram, hdd, ssd my motherboard supports. I can't find that website i already checked in my browser's history :(
In the website it recommended for my motherboard a 256gb and a close to 275gb ssd that i also searched and it didn't cost too much.
Does anyone know which website i'm talking about? This is my motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L (rev. 2.0)

This is not true.
Non UEFI system can still use GPT format drive (larger than 2.2TB) as a secondary data drive.
Only limitation is that it can't boot from GPT format drive.

Your motherboard doesnt have UEFI so it will be limited to 2TB drives. If you buy an SSD the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L won't take full advantage of it as only has 4 x SATA 3Gb/s. You'll still see a huge difference over a regular HDD. It's worth the upgrade. 256GB will work fine.
