Looking for RAM

Solution
No, just want DRAM that the CPU and mobo are capable of running. When first installed the new DRAM will go to the mobos default, then if getting 1600 or better DRAM simply go into the BIOS and enable XMP, select profile 1. Realistically at stock your CPU should support 1866 maybe 2133 or higher, or might need a slight CPU OC to carry 2133 -2800 or so

Ah okay. So whatever RAM is currently have, I should get either the same stick with the same speed or a different stick with the same speed

Best solution is get the same stick you have, same brand and speed. If that is not possible try to match the sticks speed and latency.
Is it possible for you to order a matched set and sell the stick you have?

Yeah I dont think that would be possible as the RAM is nearly 3 year old

I would be removing my old RAM and buying two new sticks as I believe the 8gb of RAM i currently have is discontinued.

Is it as easy to just plug two new sticks of ram into my motherboard, or do i have to look for certain things. Like I heard somewhere the new ram has to have the same speed as the old RAM (even if I am completely replacing it)

Sorry if that is confusing or anything.
