So I recently build this pc
CPU: AMD FX 9590
GPU: GTX 1070
RAM DDR3 16gb

This pc can't run games like heroes of the storm or overwatch on medium settings with stable frames. Anyone know what the problem may be?

Solution
That CPU is nothing but problems, you would not believe the amount of people on this forum who complain about all kinds of issues when using that cpu. Depending on your motherboard cooling solution it could be throttling itself to stay cool thus nerfing performance. What motherboard and power supply do you have?

It would help to know all the specs. It's most likely your CPU is a problem as the 9590 requires very high-end motherboard and cooling, and a top-notch power supply, just to be stable. It's a notorious cause of issues and an unimpressive gaming performer for the trouble it takes to keep it running, which is why it's almost never recommended for a gaming PC.

Poor choice on cpu

install amd overdrive and check your temps

9590's require very specific motherboards and top end cooling to reach mediocre performance

not a good pair for a 1070 at all

Thanks for the feedback, what would you recommend for a cpu?
What would you recommend for a new cpu?

depends on your monitor's refresh rate and resolution

for a 1070 you really want at least a i5 6600k

Is there a decent amd alternative or would I be better off switching to intel.

lets say I do switch to intel, would there be any software issues after i make the change?

Oh man lol. Well that motherboard is woefully inadequate for that cpu, and that power supply is junk to put it nicely. I would return that motherboard and cpu and get something else, before you cook the VRMs on that mobo or worse.

do have any recommendations for a good intel mobo, psu, and intel cpu for a price that isn't too insane?
