Hey people! I'm having a slight problem with my first time build. My BenQ monitor won't detect the HDMI signal. I have it connected to the on board graphics card. It works fine when I connect it to my laptop.

Here are my specs:

Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus Z170-P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Mushkin Blackline 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card
NZXT S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case
EVGA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
BenQ 27-inch A-MVA LED Monitor Ultra Slim Bezel (GW2760HS)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If its not working on onboard or the gpu, its failing POST (power on self test) that has nothing to do with the monitor. The computer will not boot until it passes POST. You might have screwed something up during your build, that guide I linked above covers pretty much everything you might be doing wrong.
